Mark Entwistle is currently a Managing Partner, Acasta Cuba Capital and founding partner of Acasta Capital Inc., and is considered a foremost expert on Cuba. Mr. Entwistle has been involved in Cuban affairs for 25 years, providing strategic advice to companies interested in Cuba, helping to structure Cuba investments and serving as Director of public and private companies for the past two decades. Mark served as Ambassador of Canada to Cuba from 1993-1997. At Acasta Capital, he leads the strategy platform, focused on political risk analysis for business, government relations and strategic communications.
Prior to joining Acasta, he served as Senior Advisor to Teneo Strategy LLC in New York where he provided strategic counsel on various client issues. A career Canadian diplomat for 15 years, serving in Israel and Russia, he was also Press Secretary and director of communications to the Prime Minister of Canada, Chief of Staff to another former Prime Minister and parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mark has a M.A. degree in History from the University of Toronto. He speaks English, French and Spanish fluently, and working Russian.
Mark serves as Chairman of the Board managing direct relationships with Millbrook’s Cuban partners and government authorities and plays an integral role in the development and growth of the company’s opportunity in Cuba.
Mr. Douglas Hunter has worked continuously in mineral exploration and mineral deposit evaluation professionally for the past 40 years. Mr. Hunter is an Ontario registered professional geologist (APGO, 2002) and has been a member of the PDAC since 1977. Doug is President of Earthunt Resources Inc., (incorporated 1984) and provides consulting services for mineral exploration both in an administrative/research capacity and also in conducting fieldwork for the mineral industry. Doug’s exploration management experience includes both junior and senior mining companies, and with international joint ventures in Canada, the United States of America, Mexico, Brazil and Cuba.
Doug is a co-founder and was senior officer (vice-president, exploration and director) of two publicly trading companies; Wallbridge Mining Company Limited and Duluth Metals both of which were listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Wallbridge was awarded in 2004 the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada E3 award (Environmental Excellence in Mineral Exploration). Doug is also acting as an independent director of Inventus Mining Corp., a TSXV listed junior mining company focused on exploration and development of a paleoplacer gold deposit near Sudbury in northern Ontario. He is also an independent director of public company BTU Metals Corp., a company focused on gold exploration in the Republic of Ireland.
Currently, Doug’s focus is on mineral exploration and mine development in the Republic of Cuba through Millbrook Minerals Inc., a Canadian registered private company that he founded in 2007 where he is acting as President. Mr. Hunter has years of experience in Cuba beginning in the 1990s when he was part of the exploration team that discovered a gold deposit in central Cuba, which is now being exploited. Doug has earned a HBSc ('75) and M.Sc ('79) from Carleton University, Ottawa.
Mr. David Melling is a field geologist and project manager with more than 30 years of varied experience in the mining industry globally. David is a registered professional geologist in Ontario And British Columbia. Throughout his consulting career, David has worked on a numerous exploration and development projects in Canada, USA, Cuba, Ecuador, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
David’s specialized experience extends to working in challenging, and isolated settings and managing all aspects of surface and underground exploration projects. David has worked on a variety of deposit types including: all classes of lode–Au deposits; porphyry Cu-Au, epithermal Au, Carlin type Au, high-sulphidation Au-Cu, and VMS deposits, Kambalda type Ni deposits, magmatic Cu-Ni-PGE deposits and unconformity type U deposits.
David is a former officer, director and Vice-President Exploration of a Canadian public company and since 2014, he has been a director and the Executive VP Exploration for Millbrook Minerals Inc. David has worked in Cuba for a number of years and was also part of the Cuban - Canadian exploration team that discovered the Golden Deposit gold deposits in Cuba in 1996. David is Millbrook’s Qualified Person (QP) for all projects. David has a B.Sc. Honours and M.Sc with distinction in geology from Carleton University.
John F. O'Donnell, B.A. (Economics), LLB. (University of Windsor, Canada) has practised law in Toronto since 1973 and specializes primarily in the field of corporate finance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions, stock exchange listings, and corporate and commercial documentation.
Mr. O’Donnell is and has been counsel to several publicly traded companies with an emphasis on emerging companies. John has served as an officer and director of several publicly traded companies. He is currently Chairman of the Board of a publicly traded mineral exploration company, and is a director, Corporate Secretary, and Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee of a publicly traded technology company with offices and operations in Toronto, Silicon Valley, and Singapore.
John currently serves as Counsel and Corporate Secretary to Millbrook Minerals Inc. providing support and counsel to the company’s business.
Alastair McIntyre has over 30 years of senior executive management experience in mining and metals with natural resources banking, mining companies, investment management firms, advisory, and metals sales, refining, trading and marketing. Mr. McIntyre’s finance experience includes 20 years’ in Toronto, New York, Sydney and Hong Kong where he executed hundreds of structured deals in multiple currencies, metals, and products for producers and consumers in North and South America, Africa, Australia and Asia with ScotiaMocatta, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Natixis and Landsbanki. In addition, he helped establish inaugural gold lending in China with the “Big Four” Chinese banks and gold trading with SAFE and the PBOC.
In advisory roles as Senior Managing Director at Behre Dolbear and President of Malagash Metals, he has led numerous financial and technical transactions to support bank financings, private equity investment, M&A, and IPO’s on the HKEX and SGX. He also led as Project Manager in the Commercial Advisory role for the HKSE US$2.1 billion acquisition of the London Metals Exchange (European and Asian cross border deal in 2012). Prior to banking, Mr. McIntyre has 15 years’ prior experience in gold refining (Royal Canadian Mint), and as an exploration and underground mine geologist in Canada.
Alastair is a P. Geo (Limited), holds a Chartered Professional status in Management - MAusIMM CP (Man), and has earned a B.Sc. (Geology) and B.Comm. (Economics) from Dalhousie University, Canada and currently serves as VP Corporate Development for Millbrook.
